The world is a rapidly changing place and none of us know what events will shape our lives in the span of a politicians term in office. So, we cannot elect our representatives on the basis of how they will represent us in the future unless we know what principles guide their lives and decision making, and they stick to those principles. Man-made global warming is happening, faster than predicted, and the consequences for us all could be disastrous. Yes it is man-made, yes the scientific community is in agreement on this and yes the consequences will be catastrophic. This is not my opinion but the consensus of all reputable scientific bodies and governments and even the UN Convention on Climate Change in Doha agrees. Recent events in Algeria and Mali demonstrate once again the threats to a peaceful existence we all face. We all want to live in peace, wherever we are from and whatever our beliefs, not just those of us in 'developed', 'democratic' countries. So how our we going to respond to the latest events?
